Battery Retrieval Cart
A
self contained mobile battery changer mounted to a power pallet truck, designed to
extract and replace industrial batteries in forklift trucks. Once attached
to a pallet truck it can be driven to any location, aligned with the forklift
and then effortlessly retrieve the battery. The push / pull slide assembly that
attaches to the battery is activated by means of a push button control connected
to an electrical hydraulic power pack.
Pulling of the battery is by means of a vacuum cup, that when extended forward, automatically attaches itself to the lower part of the battery casing. This allows the battery to be withdrawn smoothly (without damage) onto the roller bed. Even with slight misalignment the battery can easily be retrieved. Height adjustment is made through the "raise" and "lower" features of the power pallet truck. The roller bed consists of numerous PVC covered rollers with acid resistant end bearings that are impervious to battery acids.
